neck; But now, thanks to his monthly cheque, Can promenade the quarter-deck i The Dairyman! Who talks so glib of butter-fat,

And never needs to whip the cat: And makes his vow by this and that To wear a new half-guinea hat 'i The Dairyman! Who argues early hours and late, Prepared to face the fires of fate, His text one word—" Co-operate ? " This restless ruler af our State.

The Dairyman! Who vows, if single, he will wed, For such a man might well be dead As have to cpok his beef and bread, And dust the room and make the bed'/ The Dairyman! Who looks away across the plain, To take the levels for a drain, And grows his winter feed and grain/

The Dairyman! Who clears the wood and chops the scrub, Burn, bury, gather, root and grub ; Who kills the dingo, dam and cub, And never saw a city club ? The Dairyman! Who meets his mates with knitted brow, Prepared for peace or for a row ; Who keeps his eye upon the sow That fattens on the golden cow 'i The Dairyman!
