PUKEKOHE ROD AND GUN CLUB.
Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the Pukekohe Eod and Gun Club was held on Tuesday oveuing iu the Council Chamber, the President i Mr C. K. Lawrie in the chair. The secretary ia his auuual report congratulated members on tho successful season experienced, resulting as it did in the retention of a small credit balance During tho season the Club had donated the sum of £2 03 to the Hospital Ship Fund, in addition to holding a shoot in aid of the Carnival Queen Fuud, for which the Club donated all the birds used. The Club membership totalled 43, exclusive of 18 donors of trophie3. The Club had successfully competed in inter-club matches, and had won iu each instance excopt against Karangahake. The open shootiDg handicap held on September 21th resulted in a profit of £l2 I Us, the receipts being £o3 18s and expenses £lO l'Js. Two members, Messrs J. Fausett and D. Twidle, had enlisted and were now in the training camp. The balance sheet showed that the receipt i had amounted to £lls 'da 7d and the expenses to £lll 10s 3d, leaviug a balance in hand of 7s ■ld, in addition to plant and other assets valued at £l2 IDs. The president iu proposiug the adoption of the report and balance sheet considered it satisfactory that the Club despite war conditions militating against success still had a credit balance, oven if small. The secretary, he thought, was to be complimented on his energetic aud able working. Tho report and balance sheet were unanimously adopted. A discussion ousted as to the advisability of the Club carrying oat competitions during tho ensuing season having regard to I lie high liguro ruling for amnuuitioo. Tho opinion of members was, however, that competitions should be continued to be curtailed if necessary. The election of officers resulted as follows :--l'atrou, Mr Thos. Kounelly ; presidout, Mr C. K. Lawrie ; vice-presidents : Me.-.sio Ivau Motion, J. Halt, J. P. Aiher, C. Clarke, F. Perkins, P. F. Webster, G. Blake, W. Blake, J. Koulatou, 11. Lysnar, 14 Fulton and Ih Wake ; committee : Messrs J. Wright, J. Reynolds, J. Bowden, J. Kennelly, W. Wilson, 11. Fitness and J. Blake ; auditor, Mr F. lirowu ; handicappor, Mr li. Meaud 1, A. Motion ; trapper, Mr 11. Barber. Mi A. I'. Dayah his inability to continue iu otlico as i secretary and treasurer and the appointment ul his successor was left to tho committee. The Club subscription was again hxed at os for old members aud 7s Gd for new members.
Tho selection of the oponing day of the season was referred to the committee to arrange. Votes of thanks were passed to the president and tho donors of prizes, as also to Mr Konneliy fur the free use of his paddock for Club competitions. Appreciation of the services rendered the Club by Mr A, P. Daysh as secretary was also ordered to be recorded on the minutes.
