POPES TO BE INTERRED AT ST. PETER'S IN FUTURE. To overcome the grave difficulties connected with tho removal of the bodies of Pontiffs across the city of Rome to th,o I.atoran Basilica, which is the true cathedral of the Pope*, n new burial place is being prepared for the reception of the present and future Pnpvs in tlie Chapel of Presentation in the left transept of St. Pefer's. A kind of catacomb is now in the cofirse of construction in th.' right wall, the lcnJcr part of which will contain nil lies for coffins leaving the uppor portion free for monuments, so dosinned as not to clash with the harmonv of their surroundings. Pope Leo XIII.'s wishes will, nevertheless, be respited, and his body convoked to St. John's at l.ateran as r-oon as'a public funeral can he conveniently arranged.
