FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 1916 MR MASSEY'S VISIT.
"We nothing extenuate, nor let down auaht in malice
Franklin Electorate is honoured by possessing in its member the Prime Minister of the Dominion. Naturally the cares of office make it impossible for Mr Massey to be in such constant touch with the Electorate as he was and would be as a private member. Consequently his advent to the district, whenever possible, deserves to be fittingly celebrated. Next Monday Mr Massey intends to take a respite from the routine of ministerial duties by visiting Patumahoe and " amang his ain " officiating at tho ceremony of opening the new Patumahoe Post Office, subsequent to which he is to be entertained at a public banquet. The following day (Tuesday), Mr Massey will similarly bo the central figure at the official opening of the Ivaraka Boad Board's two new bridges, which form an epoch in the progress of the Karaka district, and also at the ceremony of laying the foundation atones of the Methodist Church's new buildings at Papakura. In each und every instance it is certain that the Premier's visit will be the subject of a welldeserved and fitting local welcome so that Mr Massey will once again receive ample assurance that the people of Franklin not only honour him as the Primo Minister of New Zealand but have supreme confidence in him as their representative in Parliament.
