TUAKAU.
BUTTER FACTORY ASSURED. Negotiations in connection with the proposed purchase of the old Hour mill site at Tuakau by the Waikato Co-operative Dairy Co* Ltd. for the purpose of re-erecting thereon the butter factory now in operation at Mercer, have concluded, the Dairy Coy. having purchased the site from Mr R. Bycroft. Nothing definite, however, has yet been disclosed as to when building operations will commence. A fire, the origin of which is unknown, totally destroyed a bam containing this season's crop of hay (15 tons), and a milking shed, together with an up-to-date milking plant on Mr W. Barnabas farm, Harrisville, on Saturday morning last whilst the owner was away at the Pukekohe A. and P. Show. Mrs Barnaby was on the farm at the time but was not aware of what was happening until the buildings were practically demolished. The insurances on the buildiugs are not available but there was a policy of £IOO on the milking machine.
