Through jumping from a train in motion in the early hours of Thursday morning last Mr Oscar Uruce, son of Mr G F Diucr, sustained a fracture of bis collar bone as well as injuries to his head. His exolanaton of the occurrence was that he was returning home by the midnight tram from Auckland and intended to alight at Wiri Station, his ticket which he had delivered to ths guard being made out fir that station, where tbe train is due to stop it required. However, the train tailec! to pull up at the station, and after passing the plattorm Mr Uruce precepitately descended with results as already stated. '

Another mishap is stated to have been narrowly averted at the Win Station on Saturday morning, last. Two passengers were waiting tor a train to convey them to Auckland, whoa a goods train from Papatoetoe with a large building on one of its trucks passed through the statiop. The cargo in question appeared ti be of such large proportions that it collided with the station verandah, and with fragmeDts flying the persons on the platform had an unpleasant experience, although they fortunately escaped injury
