WHY THE STARS TWINKLE. A'though the twinkling of the stars is commonly referred to, they do not twinkle at all. The stars are really sum that throw out I'ght, just as our sun lights the earth. When the rays of light from the stars .strike the air which surrounds the earth they have to pierce many little particles which sire always iloatng about in the atmosphere. It is th's in. terferenee between us and the source of 1 iarlit which gives the appearance of twinkling. On certain nights Hie light of the stars will appear -o bright and clear a> to attract particular attention. This is because the air i.s so clear that there is less appearance of twinkling. On certain nights the iieht of tie 1 star; w : !l appear «o bricrht and c ,n ar n« to attract particular attention. This ibecause the air is so cle.r that '•* 'ess interference than usual vitli the rus of light in reaching the earth
