FOOD BY POST.
FROM U.S. TO GERMANY. no figures are available, it is no secret that immense supplies of food and other commodities are reaching Germany by parcels post from the United States. Apart from the shipments of thousands of parcels by the great beef-pack-ing houses, German-Americans have organised a widespread parcels-post cniapaign. In all their papers and in the shop windows in practically every town, advertisements are displayed explaining how for £2 a generous packet of food may be sent to Germany. All sympathisers with Germany are urged to despatch parcels of food direct to friends and relatives; ham. bacon, flour, and tea in immense quantities being thus exported to Germany.
Great Britain, Gernian-Aniercan newspapers anotince, does not interfere with " Uncle Sam's postal arrangements," so everyone may rely on tlie packages reaching their destination.
