PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
At the adjourned monthly meeting of the Tukekohe Borough Couacil held on Wednesday evening the members present were—The Mayor, Mr II G H Mason, and Crs I Hubbard, C llarke, A B Barter, C Koadley, J Talterson and J Beatty, and the Town Clerk, Mr J F Deane TENDEKS Two tenders were received for the supply of dust-bins, two sizes, Messrs Hardley, Ltd, Auckland, quoting at 6s 3d and 7s 3d respectively, and Mr T E Skinner, Tukekohe, at 8s 9d hss 5 per cent for the smeller size only. —1 he Mayor moved, and Cr Barter recorded, that Messrs Hardlej's tender be accepted in Loll) instances. —Ct Koadley proposed, and Cr Clarke seconded, as an amendment, that Mr "Skinner's lender Le accepted on the [trour.d that the iocal sample was of a stronger character tnan that of Messrs Haroley's.- 'lns amendment was carried, and it was agreed to order 40 of the smaller dustbins from Mr Skinner ar.d 14 of 'the larger size from Messrs Hardhy
Out of two tenders for the supply of strert signs Mr Kollinson's tender cf £4 was accepted
It was resolved to call tendeis tor p:inting the wcod and iron work of the Council Chambers. MISCELLANEOUS
It was agreed to use some second-hand timber which w<is on hand to repair the kerbing in Cemetery road where it had been washed away. It was decided to repair the road and footpath leading to the new show ground, in the vicinity cf tbe railway.staticin in order to make it safe for vehicular trallic on the coming Sbow days, the expenditure not to exceed £5 The application for such work to te done was made by Cr Hubbard on behalf of the A and T Societv - It was resolved to cfl'er Mr Luckie Gannon the sum of £25, wtihout prejudice, in full settlement of his account ot £94 for reports supplied to the previous Council on a water scheme for Tukekohe THE BLACKUEHKY TEST
The Mayor retorted that owners on the town side of the railway line wete to be notified to clear away any blackberries growing en the frontages of their pioperties
