A very successful dance was he 1J in the hall in the evening on the conclusion of the Sports, a good attendance being present. Messrs C Sheppard and T Montgomery acted os M.C. 's, and kept the dar.ee going merrily. Good music was supplied by Mr W Howard, concertina, and Mr J Hunter, violin, and several txtras were played by Miss Ferguson on the piano.
Mr VV Howl, a well-known farmer in this district, dad the misfortune to have a large stack of hay burnt to the ground last week.
