We were standing close together On that spot. And the careless crowd around us Marked us not; It was but a single moment, Quickly spent, Rut 'twas anguish, bitter anguish, When you went. It was not that 1 regretted We must part: We were strangers, you were working At your art; For your hand w.as in my pocket As you bent, And you took my silver with you When you went!
