The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report, as follows: At Papakura on Tuesday we had an average yarding, which sold at •late rates. Three to three and a half year steels, £9 18s to £ll 7s bd; 2 to 3-year steers, £7 7s to £9 17s; empty cows and heifers, £5 9s to £7 15s; yearling to 18-montbs heifers, £2 7s to £4 lis; calves, £1 ».o £2 6s; bull', £6 to £ll. Beef in large supply jold at fully Wrstiield rates. At the Westfield iat stock market on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in less numbers than usual and sold at advanced rates. Prime oxen sold to £2 4s per 1001b; cows and heifers, £1 Jss to £2 29; steers said at from £l2 13s to £2l 2s 6d; cows, £6 10s to £l3 16s; 10 steers from Mr J Massey, Weeks Island, averaged £l9 15s; 20 steers from Messrs R and W Uollan, Panmure, averaged £lB Is 6d. Calves were penned in small numbers and 3old at last week's high prices. Kunners. £4 17s to £7 15s; heavy suckers, £3 7s to £4 9s; medium, £2 9s to £3 4s; light, £1 5s to £2 4s; small and fresh-dropped, 5s to £1 is. Pigs were penned in average numbers and these again told at high prices. Baconers, £2 17s to £5; heavy poikers, £2 12s to££3 lis; medium rurkers, £2 to £2 lis light, £1 10s to £1 19s; weanere, 14s to £1 Is; slips, £1 3s to £1 Bs. Sheep were yarded in less than average numbers and improved id prices from 2s to 3s per bead. Best weihers sold at tiom £1 7s to £1 10s 3d, others £1 3s to £1 6s (id; ewes, heavy £1 5s to £1 7s 6d; light 10s 6d to £1 is 3d; hoggets, 19s to £1 4s 3d. Lambs in small supply sold at improved rates; best, 18s 9d to £1 Is; others, 13s 9d to 16s 6d.
