POINTS FOR PIG-RAISERS.
The following results of experiments in feeding pigs carried out by Hit lush Uepaitmcnt of Agriculture may possibly be of value to our readers. It was found thut: 1 It takes leea food to fatten a pig in Bummer that) in winter 2 bailey, pollard and maizj arc of about equal value in the production of live weight but barhy gives the liner quality ol bacon
u It takeß 5 cwt of meal to make 1 cwt ot pork 4 One gallon of separated milk is about equal to 21b of maizs meal
5 A ton oi potatojs in a mixed ration will produce 1 cwt of pork 6 Weight increases nure rapidly in the early stages of fattening than in the later with tha same rations.
7 Raw meal, steeped in cold water for periods up to twelve hours, gives greater gains than cooked meal, whiltrtbe quality of the pork is equally good.
