CALL FOR MORE RECRUITS.
Appeal by Mr Mas9ey.
The Prime Minister, the Kight Hon. W. F. Masey, issued the following appeal last evening:— "The holiday season is now coming to an cad, and 1 take the opportunity of impressing on the young men uf the Dominion that approximately «G0 recruits are wanted to go into camp at once. These are required for the 11th reinforements, and I trust the vacancies now existing will be tilled in a very few days. The Defence authorities, however, are naturally anxious that training shall proceed regularly and properly, and thqt every New Zealand soldier shall have bad before leaving his own country sutlicient training to tit him for the very important duties that later he will he called upon to undertake. Hence the urgency ol the request that 19 being made. Wounded and invalided men are now coming back Jo New Zealand in considerable nuiiiWs-men who have done their IV' 11 duty ou the battlefields who deserve wrll of their fellow citizens, Bud whose places must be filled, | j,ave no hesitation in saying that in the prcseut crisis it is the duty ot every young man whose circumstances will allow of bis leaving this country to jutu at the earliest possible moment with those, whether in camp or on the field, who have already proved their patriotism and I yaHy by responding to their country! call.
