MANUREWA ROAD BOARD

♦ Monthly Meeting. The monthly meeting uf the Manurewa Rjod Board was held at Manurena last wetk, the members present being: Messrs G F Druce, chairman, Alex Muir, W Brown C (Joxbead and the clerk, Mr G Mabee. TENDERS Tenders for torming and grading Brown's road wfre received and dealt with. K McLiirnon's tender ot £36 16s being accepted. The woik is to be proceeded with a? once and completed without break of time. COXBEAD ROAD LOAN In connection with the loxhead roa J loan, the clerk read corree_pnnder.ee from the State Advances Office stating teat the loan hsd been approved, and it was arranged that the chairman and the clerk should arrange to meet Mr Damon, mad engineer, and obtain an estimate for the drawing op of plans and specifications tor the work. A KUADING REQUEST Mr A Richards wrote to the Board requesting permission to make and lay out a road between his own and Mr Alex Muir's property. As the ptoposcd read would have no traffc on it for some year?, he asked that the Board should accept payment and do the metalling when required. The cleik was irstructed to fotward a copy of the Board's roading conditions and to state that the request could not te granted. SENIOK CADET BAND

A letter was received from the officer commanding the 70th Company Senior Cadets, which cumpriees the units ot Papakura, Manurewa, Clevedon and Hunua stating that a subscription lis*, to raise funds for the purchase of band instruments for the company had been opened in each centre, and askmg whether the Board could assist the movement financially and morally.—lt was decided to make a donation uf £2 2s. NEXT MEETING It was decided that the next meeting be held on Monday January 24th. ACCOUNTS Accounts were paesed for payment as follows: McLarnon, £l2 18s; Le Petit, £1 sa.
