Sib,—ln rrgard to the part ho has played in introducing into Pukekohe the much criticised and "ye anciente" water-cart it appears to be overlooked that there may be a method in Mr Koadley's " madness." Anyhow this old time float (or whatever it is), with a sorrowful-looking driver silting up aloft as if ashamed of the nature of the vehicle he controls, solemnly and even majestically parades King street, throwing out a tiny dribble of water on its triumphant (?) progress and occupying most of the day on its journey This is where Mr Roadley scores for King street is watered not at the expense of the tradesmen but at a cost to the ratepayers as a whole fofthe latter not only And the water but one of the Council staff of workmen practically confines all his time to King street. Instead of being blamed Mr Eoadley deserves credit for his astuteness.—Yours etc., LOOKER-ON.
