A mo&t persistent creditor who made himself as objectionable as he possibly could tu anyone unfortunate enough to owe him money, actually called on a backward debtor on Christmas Day, and found him at dinner busy carving a line turkey. "Now, sir," said the visitor, "when do you intend to pay me?'' "I (should be only too glad," was the reply, "but it is impossible}. lam cleared out —ruined. I haven't a copper." " \\ hy, sir, when a man cannot pay his debts he has no business to be eating ;i turkey like that." "Ala*!" said the debtor as though deeply affected.. " I couldn't afford ltfl | keep."
