A HUNGRY GEORDIE.
Geordie had got work at another colliery, and lodged with an old lady who was knort n to be of very miserly habits. There was always a scarcity of food at meal times, and Geordie complained bitterly, but to no purpose. One Saturday afternoon when lie came in for his tea, the landlady nsked: "Can thoo eat an egg wi' thy tea, ladf" "Wey, missus," cried Geordie: "Aa might noo, 'eaas aa once knaad a chep what oat two eggs., and he's still alive!''
