PUKEKOHE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Pukekohe District High School Committee was held ou Monday evening last, there King presentMessrs Frank Perkins, chairman, A P Daysh, F A Brown, Eb Smith, J Bellhouse, F Jacksm and J Pilkington, secretary. The secretary explained the steps which were being taken to obtain the names of probable pupils for the Technical High School which it was proposed to establish. Meesra Smith and Bellhouse, the visiting committee for November, reported (hit the premises were in very satisfactory p*der, but that certain sanitary improvements near the Technical School building were desirable.—lt was decided that a sump thculd be sunk in the sloping ground. It was ajso decided that the secretary should write the Education Board and ascertain what financial aid would be forthcoming to enable the committee to make furthejr and improved sanitary arrangements. Mr Bellhouse was requested to arrange tor tbe clearing of growth aldng the new ferce in Harris street.
Tbe chajrman referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Rjdjings' services as teacher of the sth and 6th Standards, and expressed regret at the loss of his services. Mr Sidling having entered the Trentham military camp this week. It was decided to record an appreciation of Mr Ridlings' services and regret at his departure, and to convey to him the committee's decision, a copy of the letter to be forwarded to the Board of Education.
It was arranged that the committee should inspect the around on Christmas Day, at 9.30 a.m.
