Tbe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report as fullows:— At Pukekohe, on Monday, dairy sto'.k was penned in email numbers, and eold at late rates. Best dairy cows and hsiters £7 10s to £ll 153, others £5 to £6 17s 6d; aged and interior cows, £1 5s to £3 103. At Fukekohe yard, oo Tuesday, fat and store cattle were penned in more than average nambers. Bidding was inclined to drag, but prices wera the same as late rateß. Grown steers, h forward cundition, £ll to £l3 10s; 2 to 3 year steers £7 5a to £lO 15s, yearling to 18 months £4 10s to £6 17s 6d; empty cows and be iters, £5 12a 6 J to £8 7i 63; aged and inferior cows, £1 103 to £4 15s; yearling to 18 months heifers, £2 15s to £4 12s 6d; calves, 183 to £2 ss; bulls, £6 to £l3 15s. Beef, in large numbers, sold at Weatiield rates.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report:— On Wednesday, December 15tb, at our weekly Westfkld fat stock market, our entry of fat cattle numbered 511 head, comprising 297 steers, 207 cows and heifers and seven bulls. Competition was steady, although values were slightly easier. Choice ox sold to £2 4s per 1001 b, prime £2 Is to £2 3s, ordinary £1 17s to £2, cowb and heifers £1 12s to £2 2a. Steers ranged in price from £lO to £l9; cows and heifers, £7 10s to £l4 15s. Tbe sheep pens were moderately tilled with a nice class of mutton. There waa a sluggish demand, and prices lower. Extra beavy prime wethers made from £1 5s tu £1 8s; beavy prime, £1 3s to £1 4s 6d; medium to beavy, £1 Is to £1 2s 9d; extra heavy prime ewes, £1 to £1 2s t>d; good, 17s to 19s 6d; 1438 sold. The 232 lambs were insufficient for requirements, and prices ruled high? We can do with a big supply next week. BeEt beavy £1 4s to £1 oa 9d; good, £1 Is to £1 3a; lighter, 16a to 19s. The 138 calves penned were m excess of requirements, consequently values were lower. Kunnera sold up to £6 10s; heavy suckers, £3 5s to £3 16s; medium suckers, £2 7s to £3; lighter, £1 18s to £2 sa; light, £1 10a to £1 15s; small and frech dropped, 3i to £1 6j. An average yardicg of pigs met with a steady sale throughout at last week's values. Rough chopper?, £3 10s to £4 2s; baconcs, £3 5a to £3 16s; beavy porkers, £2 16s t) £3 8s; mediu n porkers, £2 10s to £2 14s; light and unfinished, £1 15s to £2 8s; stores slips, £1 8a 6d to £1 10s; good weaners, £1 to £1 6s; smaller, 15a to l8a; suckers, 8a to 121 6d; 289 sold.
