A FALLEN HERO.
Low on the hills that ho died defending Murmurs the wind w'th a sobbing wail; It mourns for tbo child in the grave low lying. Who died for his laud o' the hill and the dale.
Sad o'er the sea is the coronach pealing ; The waves sing his dirge to the silent shore; And the miets with a sob roll down on the mountain, To mourn for the lad we shall never see more.
The curlew's wild wail and the scream of the seagull, By the side of the sea where lie once used to roam, Are the only sad voices which now come to greet me, Instead o' the lad who departed from home. Gruline, Mull. Flora Livingstone.
When a girl allows a fellow to put Ms overcoat on without assisting him, it is a sign that «ho doesn't want him :o come back any more.
