A GERMAN APPRECIATION
Iu au article on Britain's newarmies, the Berlin correspondent of the " Kolmscho Volkszeitung' pays a high tribute to the organising talent of Lord Kitchener, and says—" Even Ger. man envy must admit that his recruiting bos l>een an organising pertormanco of the very first rank." The article continues:-"Certainly the New Army is composed for a great part of inferior elements, and is not equal, ot course, in quality to tho old, small, mercenary English Army. But war experience will come with time to these young' English trooj*', just as to our own. and in view of the good military talents of the English people, they will soon have lieooiuo very valuable. These voung English troops have already 'shown that tlioy are enemies to be respected, and that nothing would be a greater uiistalfe than to uuder-estiuiate them.''
