POKENO ROAD BOARD.
Tbe usual monthly meeting of the above authority, held on Monday last, was attended by Messrs R. McKenzie, chaiiman, R. Lyon", C. P. O'Leary and J. McCaw. Ihe chairman was authorised to asceitain the price of pipes to be laid on a proposed road through Mr Goodwin's property fur the purpose of giving Mr Kamsay access to the main Waitakaruru-Pokeno road. It was agreed to tnve tbe unformed road leading from Mt. William to the main Pokeno road formed as early as possible. The tender of H. Applby to cart 100 yards of metal trom Mr McKenzie's property to Caie's road at 2s 3d per yard, was accepted. Subsequent to the Koad Board meeting, the Cemetery Board, consisting of the Road Board member?, met and Mr Lyons submitted plans and price for an iron gate to be erected at the entrance to the cemettry. Members appravid of tbe proposed gate and agreed that the price was satisfactory. Mr Lyons was requested to btiag the matter before the County Council and to ask that authority, as the central controlling body f<r cemeteries/to psy the cost of the erection of the gate.
