CLEVEDON SHOW.

Mapped by Wet Weather. Heather Boy Champion Hunter> That the members of the Clevedon A. and P. Association are unfortunate was demonstrated on Saturday, when the seventh annual show was held. The entries had been as numerous as anticipated, and the officials had made arrangements for a record gathering. However, ss in several previous years the rain came on and spoilt the day's pleasure. About flevcn o'clock a steady downpour set in end continued practically without ceasing during the day. 'J he officials were not dismayed, and endeavoured to keep smiling faces, with the result that, apart fiom the unavoidable wettirg, the proceedings were most enjoyable. The quality of the exhibits was higher than previously, wbicb fact is an indication that the Society's influence is being felt in the district, and that the Clevedon show will undoubtedly continue to prosper uncr the capable management now controlling it. The ladies did tteir part in ur.deavcuring to make a satisfactory surplus for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund by controliirg the luncheon booth, confectionery and flower stalls. The former did a brisk business and the fair helpers were kept extremely busy throughout the afternoon. A splendid range of vehicles was on view on the grounds, manufactuied by the capable Drury tirm of Quinn and Peoples. Tbis included gigs, buggies and farm waggons. Messrs A. Yates and Co. also were represented on the ground. The most interest, as ususl, was evinced in tbe jumping events, the principle of which was won by H. Swaffleld's Heather Boy. Mr E. P.
