A grand Plain and Ft-ncy Drees Ball in aid of the Carnival Funds is to ba held in the local hall at an early date, on Monday 22nd iost A special meeting of the Mauku Athletic Sporu Club was held in the Hall oo Saturday eveniig last. The president. Mr J. B. Goldsworthy, was in the chair, and there waa a full atterdarce of the committee. it was decided to hold the annual sports as usual in New Yiar'n Day ind to dwate haU Ibe procie a of to ihi feick aid Wrunt'ed Soldi rs' Fui.d. On the motion if Mr Pleydell it was agreed to donate £5 out of the present funds in hand to the South Queen in connction with the Carnival. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
