The theatres in Japan have a novel method of pass-checks which are positively non-transferable. When a person wishes to leave the theatre before the close of the performance, with th* intention of returning, he goes to the doorkeeper nnd holds out his right hand. The doorkeeper then, with a rubber stamp, imprints on the palm the mark of the establishment.
