The Forthcoming Show. Members of tbe General Committee of tbe above Society met on Friday evening. Present: Messrs D. R. Hamilton, president, F. E. Simpson, J. Wylie, J. Potter, J. Kennedy, A. P. Daysb, J. Wallace, K. Bilkey, C. K. Lawrie, J. Schlaepfer, A. B. Barter, J. H. Webb, F. Ballard, W. J. D. Sharp and W. J. Kutherford and the secretary, Mr Baxter. CAKNIVAL dPOKTS GATHEKING. A request that the use of the new Showground should be granted for the purpose of holding a sports meeting, under tbe auspices of , the Carnival Sports Committee, was considered, and it was unanimously decided to accede to tbe application. THE SHOW. The matter of the advisability of holding tbe usual annual show next autumn or of dropping it for the year in view of war conditions was discussed at length, and it was ultimately decided to carry out the show as usual. MISCELLANEOUS. The recommendations of the subcommittees set up to revise the schedules were discussed and adopted. It was agreed that the secretary should write to the Right Hon. W. F. Massey, Prime Minister, and other Cabinet Ministers, inviting them to be present at tbe opening of tbe new showground.
