BOROUGH LOAN SCHEME.
Revised Proposals.
At last Wednesday's meeting of of the Pukekohe Borough Council the minutes were read of a meeting held in committee on the previous Monday, at which the following decision was arrived at, viz :
"That ratepayers be asked to sanction loans as follows (a) £SOOO for drainage, the area to be from the Public Bchool to the Hotel and thence to the outfall, £ISOO of the £SOOO to be spread over the whole borough and the balance over the special area; (b) £3500 for water loan; (c) £3OO for Fire Brigade over the old Town Board area; and, in connection with the loans over the whole Borough, the Council to give an undertaking that no interest will be charged to ratepayers in that portion which is to be included in the county. Upon the above report being presented on Wednesday the recommendations were adopted without discussion.
It was further agreed that the Drainage Committee should at a Council meeting to be held next Wednesday submit a report defining the boundaries of the proposed Drainage area. It was also decided that at next Wednesday's meeting the Council should, in Cunimjttee. drajt a revised scheme for a loan for roading requirements and further discuss the appointment of au engineer to carry through the .-(.■hemes comprised in tla< Viuiou-i loan?.
