THE ROLL OF HONOUR.
Death of Pte. Burgess. The name of another Pukekohe "boy," Private Tom Burgess, has been added to the Roll of Honou-, word having been received last Friday by his brother, Mr Willie Burgess, who is employed on Mr Barney Foy's farm, Pukekohe, that Private Burgess -had died on the 25th September, of wounds in the Gut-Ham Hospital, Constantinople. Private Burgess left New Zsaland with the 16th Waikatos in the Main Expeditionary Force, and was previously reported wounded and a prisoner of war, Mr and Mrs Daniel Goodwin, at whose home the late Private Burgesß had resided for years as an adopted so", his parent* having died, concluded from letters received from tfye late Private Burgess that be was improving and would shortly be leavjng the hospital. Consequently, when Mr and Mrs Goodwin were notified of bis death it came as a surprise and shock. At tKe age of 13 years the late Private Burgess was apprenticed to the wh:elwnaht trade, and worked for a number of years for Mr Dan Goodwin in a factory that stood on the site now occupied by Mr G. Armstrong's hairdresaing and billiard salcon establishment in King street.
