A LEXICON OF ABUSE.
The insults which Germany has hurled at Britain and Britishers since the beginning of the war are of such variety that one wonders if their collection dates back to the time, just over tweive years ago, when an industrious son of the Fatherland, Herr Shuch, compiled a list of some 2500 insulting expressions and carefully classified them. Herr Shuch separated his 2500 insults into five fundamental classes, corresponding to the different kinds of persons that the readers of his "Lexicon" might feel called upon to insult. There were insults for men. insults for women, insults for either sex.insults for childu ren, and collective insults for syndicates, groups, and corporations. This "Schimpfworter Lexicon," or AbuseWords Dictionary, must have proved invaluable of late. "Westminster Gazette."
Great thoughts know no remorse and great art has never to repent.-^Rcnan.
