WAIUKU HEWS. Mr H. T. Gilliee, organiser of the Queen Carnival for the Waikato paid a visit to Wawku on Tuesday evening and f.p ke at a public meeting htld in suppott of the Carnival scheme, Dr Howden presiding. Committees were elected to carry out organisation work. Wishing yarrs and retorts of catches proverbially "grow" as passed on. As recorded at the time in this paper, five rods at Waiuku on the opening day uf the season (October Ist) landed 31 trout. This number had grown t«i 53 when the catch was reported to the Auckland Acclimatisation Society at a meeting held thi3 week. TOBACCO FOR OUR SOLDIERS & SAILORS. " Pukekohe Times " Tobacco Fund.
