BANKING FACILITIES.
Despite (he fact that a branch bank office is opened weekly at Papjkuia tor the convenience of larmers and busiiuss people, ths facilities oifeted arc rot being taken advantage of as th:y should be. It is as well tu know (bat all the business undertaken by the larger bank branches are available in the Papckura office, and therefore there ii ro sound reason why tin distiici's banking ihould not be done in Pauakura. It is cnl/ in this way that tha totn will advance, as increased business in th 3 township would eventually mean a bank building, with a resident manager. Confidence in the district in which one lives is a great thing, and should be cultivated. There is, of course, one thing that is against the argument and that is that the day (Tu;sday) is unsuitable for much business, the cash, ing of wages cheques fjr instance; but united action by the townspeople wouli possibly induce the Back ot New Zealand to p.-rhaps open on two days a week. But, first, en attempt should be made to show the directois ttiat the town warrants inCreascJ facilities. A TKOOPEK FAKEWELLED.
