There vere extra large j- entries in both departments. ii Buyers were in attendance from the North, Opotiki, Waikatc, Hauraki Plain?, and surrounding districts. Bulls were in keen u demand and record prices realised, ShDrthorns meeting with most favour. Purebred yearling to two* year-old Shorthorns made from £l4 !' 14s to 33gns, best grade two-year-K olds, £lB 18s to 25gns; second 8 rate two-year-olds, £l2 123 to £l6 * 16s; a few three-year-olds, £lO 10s to £l6 15s; best grade yearlitg?, . £l6 16s to 25gns; smaller year- \. lings of good quality, £lO 10s to £ls Jss; second grade yearlings, ' £8 8s to £l4 14s; two and tbreef year-old Holstein bulls, £lO 10s to \ £l6 16s; yearlings, £7 7s to ' 12Jgns; pedigree yearling Jersey a bulls, £l3 13s to £l7 17s; grade 8 ~ ytailing Jersey bulls, £3 3s to £9 * 9s; Ayrshire bulls, £4 4s to £lO j" 10s: heavy bull', £lO to £l4. Competition was keen at ' last week's rates. Best quality x sold to £2 7s per 1001b, cows and '• heifeis, £! 15s to £2 59; steers ' sold at from £ll 10a to £22 ss; 8 cows and heifers, £6 7s 6d to £l4 y 12s 6d; 8 steers from Pukekohe y East Estate averaged £l6 7s 6d. 8 Calves were penned in average * numbers, and improved in prices. 0 Kunners Bold at from £8 to £l2 1 2s 63. Heavy suckers made £4 2s ? to £5 IBs, medium £2 lis to £4, light £1 9s to £2 4s, small and e fresh-dropped 2s to £1 ss. Sheep 3 were penned in usual numbers, and e sold at fully last week's rates.
