The Silent Giver.
| TO THE EDITOE.I Sir,—These are stressful times and we all have many oemands made upon us. Some of us in our doings and givings sometimes get tar more credit than is deserved, whilst others who give more liberally and probably freely, hide their light under the proverbial bushel; but "The Lord loveth the silent giver." This train of thought has been forced uppermost in my mind by an episode of to-day. A well-known Pukekohe resident placed in my hand 9an open cheque for £3, simply saying: "Get it cashed and do what you think beßt with the money for the benefit of those fighting for us." I have decided to allot £1 for the "Times" Tobacco Fucd, £1 to the National Reserve Wounded Soldierß' b'und, and £1 to the Lady Liverpool Fund.—l am, etc., I. KUADLEY. Pukekohe, '2lth September, 11)15.
