Mesrss F. Perkins and Co. have juat opened up at their stores in Pukekohe a new consignment of the Drearfnought brand of boots and shoes and they invito inspection of the sam?.

The Auckland Produce Committee has lixcd the wholesale price for I utter and ogga for the week ending September 2uth as follows: Factory butter, Is ;>J; fanners', separator and dairy butter, JOd; fges, Is ptr dozen.

All day lorg and well into the evening rain fell yesterday through out the Pukekohe district to a very copious extent, the atmospheric conditions being in a marked conto the genial weather experiened on Saturday. The rain has been followed this morning by the arrival of the equinoctial galee, the wind being decidedly boisterous although tempered by bright sunshine.

The Pukekohe Methodist Choir are holding their annual Social in the Oddfellows' Hall, on Thursday evening. An interesting programme of first-class music has been compiled. During the evening the choir of twenty five voices will render some glees aad part songs. Refreshments will be provided. Tickets at one shilling each may be obtained from members of the choir.

Under the auspices of the Auckland Education Board a course of instruction in invalid cookery is to be given m Pukekohe, the object of the same being to enable proper comforts to be provided for wounded eoldiers returning from the Front, lo an advt. in this issus the Mayoress (Mrs U. G. R. Mason) calls attention to the movement, and requests that nanus of ladies desirous of joining the classes should be communicated to ber on or bstorc Saturday next. The instruction is to ba free, subject to a charge of 2s Gd towards the cost of material.
