PRESBYTERIAN CONCERT.
An excellent cr.ncert was held in the Parish Hall last Thursday evening, in aid of the Preßbytenan new organ fund. Despite the muggy weather there was a crowded house. The programme, which was a lengthy one, was weII received by the lfi.-ge audience; almost every 4tem encored. The local " perforUfm were ably assisted by visiters to the disfict. The following" were the main items of the programme, apart trom encores:— Inatrumental t"urt, violin and piano, Misses McUr ,<r a:d Summerville; song, Mies Swain; children's chorus, under Miss Lake; song, Miss McGregor; humorcus leading, Kev. J. Fuesell; song, Mrs Mitchell; recitation., Miss Clover; song, Mr Wyneßs; Scotch recitation, Master Mitchell. After a abort interval the piogramme proceeilid with a pianoforte solo by Mrs Selby; song, Mr Wright; flag drill, school children under Miss Sanderson ; reading, Kev. Father Skinner; son?, Mrs Mitcht II; aong, Miss E. Roßsitcr; recitation, Mr U'Hara; instrumental duet, Misees McGregor and Summerville; BODg, Mr Tung. The Htv. Mr liarr presided, and he apologised tor the unavoidable absence of Miss Muir and Mr Andrew?, whose names wire on the programme. The proceeds totalled about £l2, which, together with £ls in hand, will materially further the project. All denominations assisted with the
function, for which the Presbyterian Church here is very grateful.
