A young man named James Sexton, of Waikato Heads, was admitted to the Auckland hospitil early on Saturday morning suffering from injuries to hie right shoulder, caused on August 14th, by a branch of a tree falling on it. Sexton, who is 21 years of age, was cutting scrub about 18 miles inland from the heads when the accident happened. Owing to heavy rains the road to the heads was impassable until last Thursday, when Sexton, accompanied by bis mate, made the journey on horseback atter a difficult ride, to which rain added to the troubles of the party. Arrived at the beads, a motor launch was procured for the journey to Tuakau, when the injured man was put on a goods train and arrived at the hospital at 3 a.m. on Saturday, a week after the accident. Sexton's shoulder is crushed and an abscess has formed under his arm, but tbe full extent of his injuries cannot be ascertained until the shoulder has been .examined by X-rays.
