HUGARD'S MYSTERIES.
The age of marvels,. according to some, is past and gone. The world is matter of fact and science and education have robbed to a great extent the mysterious of much of its power. To impress the modern mind nowadays with a sense of the mysterious one must indeed be an aitist having more than the ordinary stock in tiade of the average conjuror at his command. "There are more things in Heaven and Earth," 3ays an immortal writer, and Hugard's performance brings home very forcibly the truth of this phrase. For two and a half hours the performance rivets the attention, one of the most striking features being that most of the work is done in absolute silence; when watch as you will you canuot see how the miracles are performed. The great Chinese Act is without exception the biggest and most gorgeous act of its kind that has ever toured the Dominion. Among many striking illusions to be presented are : The Birth of Bea Nymphs, The Sword Levitation, Human Volcano, etc., etc. Supporting artists include Miss Myra Eirington (Soprano and instrumentalist), Maiam Carroll (at the Piano), Miss Millie Chase (Comedienne and Vocalist), Clivally and Dog Sport (jugglers, balancers and Tricksters), and Cbiug Sung Loo (The Chinese Wizard). The Company is to appear in the Premier Hall, Pukekohe, on Monday, the 23rd inet, prices of admission being 3s, 2s. and Is. Seats may be reserved at the Bookery, 6d. extra.
