DEATH 01"' PRIVATE FRASER
MILITARY FUNERAL.
The death from an attack of pneumonia took place at the Wellington Hospital on Wednesday of last week of Private Duncan Reid Fraser. Prior to joining the Earl of Liverpool's Own Regiment for service with the Expeditionary Force, the deceased, who was 23 years of age, was employed in the Railway Department, and lived at Pokeno, where another brother is also engaged in fanning. His illness developed at the Treotham Camp. The funeral was arranged for Saturday last at Pnkeno, but owing to the train that was conveying hia body being delayed at Taumaruuui by the recent slips on the Main Line, the interment was necessarily postponed and only took place yesterday. The funeral was of a military character, local representatives of the Territorial For:e prevding an eecoit and tiring party, and members of the Railway Staff being present in large numbers, together with many local residents. The Kev. Putter, of Otahuhu, and Mr Koarucy, of Pokcno, olliciated at the graveside.
