In connection with the death of Mr Elliott, briefly recorded cn page four, the fallowing aro additional particulars The lata Air Thomas Elliott was bom at Kilmore, It eland, on July 12th, 1832, and at the time of his death was 83 yeara of Rge. He came out to New Zealand in 1864. He served in the Waikato Militia duiirg the Maori war, and after his discharge he became interested in gold mining it Thames. He then took up farming at Harriaville, near Tuakau, and resided there for 20 vears. Two of his sons are the Kev. W. J. Elliott, superintendent of the Ashburton Baring Square Methodist Church, and Mr J. E. N. Elliott, headmaster of the Te Kopuru school. For some years past the late Mr Ellioti-had livtd at Avondale. He was interested in pulitice, and was a trustee of the Methodist Church. Mr George 8. Lapwood, Tuakau South, lias a nutice appearing in this issue with reference to his large eeven-seater Studebaker motor car, which plvs for hire. Mr Lapwood's business telephone is No. 16, where a message can be left for him at all times. The new business premises in liuorge street occupied by Mr A. Maysll, bootmaker and repairer, at present holds a large stock of the latest boots and shoes. Mr Mayall invites the put lie, through the medium of our advertising columns, to inspect the same, which are the very latest in footwear.
