SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
Monthly Meeting. At the usual monthly meeting of the Waiuku School Committee the members present were: Messrs C. T. Barriball, chairman, R. Hudson, S. T. Ros iter, W. Henlou, A. M. Barriball, R. Honey, J. Whitham, J. Copeland, J. Williams and C. H. (Jreenhead, secretary. A letter was received from the Board of Education stating that the improvements asked for at the Kariotabi sc'ucol would be proceeded with. An application from Miss Sander* son, one of the teachers, for leave of absjnee for three and a-half days was granted. A letter was receivd from Mr R. L. Hoey, the schoolmaster at Aka Aka, statin? there nas a leakage in the roof of the dwelling house, and asking lor it to be attended to.— It was decided to forward the letter to the Board of Education. The appointment of a caretaker for the Waiuku Central School was lsft in the hands of the secretary to attend to. It was resolved thai the secretary write to the headmaßter of the Waiuku Central School, pointing out that be must have the gorse cut on the adjacent roads and all the school grounds with the exception of the playground. It was decided to invite the chairman and other members of the Board of Education to ba present at tha opening ceremony in connection with the additions to the Waiuku Central School, the date to be arranged by the chairman of the Schcol Committee. * • A sub-committee consisting of Messrs J. Copeland, S. T. Rosaiter, W. Henton and J. Williams was appointed to make the necessary arrangements in connection with the opening ceremony.
Accounts totalling £1 were passed for payment.
