PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL , Notice to Strike Rates. Notice is hereby given that in compliance with the provisions of the "Municipal Corporations Act 1908" and the "Bating Act, 1908" it is the intention of the Pukekohe Borough Council at the next Ordinary Meeting to be held in the Council Chamber, Pukekohe, on Wednesday, August 11th, 1915, at 7 p.m., to strike and levy the following rates for the year ending March 31st, 1916, viz:— A General Kate of IJd in the £ on the Capital value of all rateable properly within the Borough. The following Special Rates will also be collected: — ]d. in the £ over the whole Borough in respect of " Streets Improvement" and ''Domain" Loans. Id. in the £ in respect of Roads and Waterworks Loans over the Town district. Hill No. 1, ad in £; Hill No. 2, Jd in the £ ; Puni, id in the £; Cape, Jd in the £; Buckland, | d in the £ ; Northern |d in £. A Separate Water Bate in respect of the Ordinary supply (8000 gallons per six months) for the six months from October Ist, 1915, to March 31st, 1916, on all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, to be based on the Annual rateable value, viz (1) Where the annual value does not exceed £l2 10s Od, ss. (2) Where the annual value exceeds £l2 10s Od, 2 J per cent, on the liist £3OO of such value, and 2 per cent, on balance of such value above £3OO. (3) Upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses, or for any porposes other than as dwelling houses; and upon all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not supplied, situate within 100 yds." of any part of the Waterworks, one half of the rates above mentioned. (4) Upon all lands and buildings supplied with private mains 2J per cent, on the first £SO; 1J per cent, on the second £SO, and J per cent, on bo much 'of such value as exceeds £IOO.

Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Waiuku Town Board held on Monday, the 12th day of July, 1915, the following resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Board to be held on Tuesday, the 10th day of August, 1915, at 7.30 P-m. at the Offices of the Board at Waiuku. RESOLUTION. In exercise of the jiowers conferred upon it by the "Town Boards Act 1908" and Part XIII of the "Municipal Corporations Act 1908" the Waiuku Town Board in Special Meeting hereby approves and adopts the By-Laws as now signed by the Chairman and directs that a Meeting of the Board be held on Tuesday, the 10th day of August, 1915, at the Offices of the Board at Waiuku for the purposes of confirming this Resolution.

To provide the manner of service of notices or other documents on or on behalf of the Board; to control the condition of hedges; to prohibit the placing upon or the burning of material in any Street without consent of the Board; to prohibit the stacking of iid flammable material within 40 ft. of any building or Street; to prohibit injury to Street; to prohibit the discharge of misiles or lire-arms in any Street; to provide for the safety of passengers along streets during excavation or bnilding operations ; to forbid the placing of any placard or other writing upon property ; to forbid droppings from the eaves of any building upon any Street; to prohibit the rolling of any cask, breaking in of horses or the indulgence of any game in any Street to the annoyauio or danger of the public ; to prevent furious or negligent driviug ; to forbid the sale of animals in any Street; to regulate the construction of cellarflaps ; to prohibit the keeping of pigs within OGft. of any dwolling house; to provide for fencing anl illumination in any Street; to prohibit the leaving of auy rail, gate, fence, or cover of auy entrance to cellar abutting upon any Street in any manner calculated to bo a danger to the public; to prohibit the driving of any dog or goat harnessed to any vehicle along any Street; to prohibit the turning looso of cattle in any Street; to regulate and con-
