Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report: At Runciman on Saturday, July 17th, we held a general sals of dairy stock, when the advertised number came forward. Buyers were in attendance anl practically everything sold. Sound young cows made from £8 to £ll 10s; ba<t be i fen. £8 to £9 10s;, second grade cows, £6 to £7 10s, aged and inferior, £4 to £5 10s; small heifers, £4 10s; small heifers, £1 103 to £6 10s. At Fokeno on Monday, July l'Jtb, and Runciman on Tuesday, July 20tb, ws held our usual monthly sales. There was a tair yarding of stock at both placets and all classes were in demand at improved prices. Dairy cows and heifers brought from £5 10s to £ll ss; fat cows and heifer?, £6 to £ll 5;; 3A to 4-year-od steers, io Jie-b condition, £9 5a to £lO 9s; less condition, £8 to £9; two year steers, £5 10s to £6 10s; yearling to 18-month steers, £0 5a to £4 14s; yearling heifers, £1 18s to £2 14s; young store cows, £5 to £6 10s; old cows, £2 10s to to £4 10s; calves, £1 18s to £2 10s; smaller, £1 10s to £1 163; small, 16s to £1 ss; small store hoggets, 15s 3d; young pigs, 19s.
The New Zealand Loan ar.d Mercantile Agency Co. report:— On Wednesday, at Westiield yards, beef was yarded in small numbere. and prices again advanced, best quality selling to £2 5s per 1001b, others £2 to £2 0%, cows and heifers, £H33 to £2 3s. Steers, no extra heavyweights yartied, sold at from £lO 10s to £lB 17s 6d. A draft ol 20 from Mr it. Clarke, Patumahoc, small, but well fattened, averaged £l7 19s Gel; cows and bufere,
from £5 10a to £l3 l£s 6d. Cakes Wcfo rc-ntd in average n.ruUeis, and sold at fully list week's rates. Runnere sold at from £5 7s 6d tu £6 17s 6d; heavy tucker?, £3 53 to £5 49; medium dit o. £2 10 i to £3 13a; light-.r ditto, £1 15i to £2«Bs; light, £1 2s to £1 12s; small and fresh droppe:', 5s tu 23?. Sheep ware penned in tverage Eumbe:?, and sold at greatly improved rate?. Rest wethers sold at from £1 231 to £1 19s 3d; others, £1 4s Gd to £1 12s; ewes, well fatted, £1 9s 6d to £1 14a 3d; others, £1 2s to £1 8s 9d; hoggets, best, JBs 6d to £1 9s*6d; others, 153 to 17s Bd. Pics were penned in small numbers, and sold at improved thtes. Large baconers, none yarded, and arc wanted. Medium baconcrs, £3 10s to £3 17s; light baconers, £3 to £3 9s; heavy porkers, £2 16a to £3 4a; medium poikerp, £2 9s to £2 14s; light porkers, £1 13s to £2 7s 6d; slips, £1 3s to £1 10s; weancr*, 17s to £1; suckers, 10s to 10s.
