LADY LIVERPOOL LEAGUE.
At a meeting of the Pukekohe branch of the Lady Liverpool League, held on 9th July there were present:—Misses Webster, and Townson, Mesdames Motion, Webb, Mcßae, Hogan and O'Connor.
Letters of thanks were read from Mrs Baume, secretary of the Auckland League, acknowledging parcels of comforts. Th2 chairwoman reported having sent to Auckland sinca ths previous meeting parcels containing 47 Balaclavas, 12 pair wristlets, 18 mufflers, and 11 pairs of sox.
It was agreed to prucurc material for garments for wounded soldiers. Accounts amounting to £4 Is 9d were passed for payment. During last month material for 200 housewives was distributed among the work=r;<. These were collected ar.d taken to the Council Chambers, where the : committee spent tno busy afternoons lilting them ready for the solidera' us?.
It has been rumoured that at the receiving depot in Auckland quantities of comfort) have been thrown aside as useless. We are informed by the secretary of the Auckland Leauge that this is not correct, any articles not fit for use being unravelled and re-made by expert knitters.
