kessra Alfred Buckiand and Sunsreport : - On Wednesday, July 7th, at our weekly Westfield stuck market, our entry of beef numbered U2B head, comprising 224 steer?, 98 cows and heifers, and 6 bulla, i'he quility was not up to last week's yarding although there was a fan 1 troportion of choice and prime cattle. There wks a keen demand throughout, with a further advance of troin XI to £1 5a per head. Choice ox sold to £2 3?, prime £1 193 to £2 Is, ordinary beef £1 10a to £1 16s, cows'and heifers £1 10s t3 £1 18s. Steers ranged in price from £9 to £l9 2s 6cl; cows and heifers, £5 to £l3 2s Od. About an average supply of veal scid readily. Kunners told to £6 10s; heavy suckers, £4 13 to £o'; medium suckers, £2 10s to £3 12s, lighter £1 lts's to £2 15s, light £1 5s to £1 16s; small a:;d fresh dropped, 3s to £1 Is. The 1086 sheep penned were a long way below requirements, and, in consequence, there was aj keen demand, values being extreme. Heavy wethers made from £1 103 to £1 14s 6d, no etxra heavy wethers o'lered, medium to heavy £1 6s 6d to £1 ( Js 9d, unfinished £1 4s to £1 6s; good ewes £1 3s to £1 4», no extra ptime came forward, 'lhere was a full yarding of lambs, which '■'• •' higher rate?, in sympathy wicti muttoD. Best lambs made from £1 Is 6d to £1 43 9d, gcod 18s to £1 Is, others 13s to 17s. 331 sold. Although an average yarding of pigs, there v.ui ii.sufficieut for requirements, and late high prices were fully maintained. Choppers made up to £4 19s, no heavy baconera yarded ana are required, medium baconers £3 7s [to £3 18s, light baconers £2 19s to £3 03; heavy porkers £2 13s to £2 18s, medium porkers £2 6s to £2 12s, light £1 12s to £2 2?, slips, 18s to £1 ss, weaners 6s to 15s. 193 sold. On Tuesday, July 6th, at Aka Aka, Waiuku, we held a special sale of Mr S. N. West's dairy herd. There was tot an extra large attendance, but thos3 present were buyers. The cows were a nice, even loi, being principally second calvers. Competition was keen and high prices ruled. Best cows realised lrmi £l2 to £l4 15s, smaller cows £9 to £ll, others £1 15a to £8 10s; horses, £1 to £ll 15a; sows, in pig, 3*gns to sgns; weancis, 16s 6tl to 17s 6d.
