Toe usual fortnightly sitting of the Pukekohe Magistrate's Court will be held on Thursday next. Messrs J. T. Stembridge and Co. announce a sale of household goods and farm effects to be held on Saturday next on behalf of Mr H. Barber, at the latter's farm, in Kaye's road, Pukekohe, Mr Barber having disposed of his property. As a first step towards beautifying the streets 01 Pukekohe it was decided at the meeting of the Borough Council last mhgt to plant trees, subject to the Railway Department's approval, on the railway embankment opposite the Pukekohe Hotel. The recent heavy rains have in some instances h the higher lying lands of Pukekohe played havoc with the potato seed already in the ground, the tubers being washed up to the surface, la such cases rewill have to be resorted to.

Cr Clarke, through wh m the offer was forthcoming, was authorised tu make the necessary arrangements for the representative of the fiim in question to corsult wit'j the Council as to the site »t the crossing.

The Fukekohe Town Band taik part in the demonstration of Bands in Auckland on Sunday last, the gatheting being promoted ill aid of the fund l'or wounded soldiers. Besides occupying a place in the procession from Queen street, the Fukekohe bandsmen rendered a selection in the Domah, and acquitted themselves excellently. The Pukekobe representatives travelled to town by the Main Trunk express ou Sunday, the train, owing to a landslide btlow Te Kuiti, not leaving Fukekohe until 11.3U a.m. instead of 5.00 p.m , the scheduled time of departaie.
