MILITARY BAND CONCERT.
The visit to Pukekohe last night i of the line band of the 3rd (Auckland) Infantry "Regiment tor the , purpose of giving a concert in aid of the local Belgian Fund attracted a full iscusa to the Premier Hall, the gross receipts being in the j vicinity of £2S. Prior to the com- J mencemet.t of proceeding?, Mr A. j B. Barter, cn behalf of the Pukekohe Patriotic League, stoke a lew j words in acknowledgmer t cf the! praiseworthy action of ttic Band in ! coming to Pukeknhe and giving j their se:vices on behalf of such a deserving cause. The programme presented was keenly appreciated, selections by the Band being interspersed itn pictures shown by the Lyceum picture management and with vocal items contributed by members cf the Myster.ous Mr E.'s London Company. Encores were numerous. Bandmaster Lighton wielded Lie baton durirg the musical pieces and the extreme proficiency gained by the Bard is to a very great extent the result of bis able conductors! ip.
