AUCKLAND MARKET REPORT.

The market this week has been steady, though values are lower in most lines. Pumpkins and mellons are in very heavy supply with siow demand and values low. Fruit i 3 much firmer. The market is very heavily supplied with poultry and prices are low. All classes of birds are much lower than last report. For poor conditioned birds sales are bard to effect. A very noticeable feature of the poultry market this year is that there are a large quantity of birds being sent forward which are near their profit, the reasoi' being the high cost of food. Local potatoes are firmer. We qix-te: Poultry, 1200 penned.—Prime hens is 6d to Is 10d, others Is to Is 4d; roosters 3s to 3s 9d, small 2s to 2s yd; cockerels Is to Is 8d; ducks, Is 9d to 2s 6d; geese, 3s 6d to 4s 3d; turkeys, gobblers 6s to Bs, hens 3s Gd to 4s 3d.

Pigs 7s to 10a 6d. Farm pioduce—Butter la to 1b 3d, eggs Is Sd to Is 10d, cheese 9d, Bides bacon 9d to 9Jd, nams 9d to lOd, lard 7d, honey, bulk, 3d to 3 Ad. Potatoes, local £4 to £5 ss, Southern £6 to £7 10s; pumpkins, £2 10s to £3 10s; swedes £2 to £2 10s; kumaras, 5s Gd to Ts 9d; citron mellons, 2s to 3s. Fruit—Apples, dessert 4s to 7s 3d, cookers 4s to 6s; peara, dessert 3a 9d to 6s 9d, cookers 3s to ss; eraona, 4s to 6s.

Grain—Maize 6b 6d, wheat Bs, oats 4a lOd, bran £9, sharps 10s 6d, wheat 9s 6d, barley 6a 6d, chaff, aouthern, £9 10s, Algerian oats 7s 6d.
