Th« chairman explained that it was on account of the valuation roll not being available tor the previous meeting that it was postponed until that evening. ENGINEER'S REPORT. The engineer reporter! that he had inspected the proposed quarry site and water leasehold and had computed the area, which he found to be a little ucder one and ahalf acres. In the course of a few days he would send Mr Bycroft and the Board a plan ofthe area he had measured. Mr John Madill harl completed his regrading job and he had given him a certificate for the amount of his contract. Mr Madill was also entitled to have his deposit cheque returned. If the Board thought of putting metal waste or other material on ih2 newly-formed footpaths he advised the application of only a narrow strip sufficient to keep pedestrians out of the mud for the present winter, since a permanent job would be batter left over until the ketbs were down, He discouraged expenditure on the old footpaths for the same reason. Captain Ryder had practically completed the small cutting at the far end of the half-chaiu road, a little cleaning up being all that was necessary.—The report was received. QUARRY SITE.

Reference to the proposed quarry formed the content) of a letter from Mr K. Bycroft. He stated that on reading a report of the previous Board meeting in the "Tunes" te was surprised at the discussion that arose in connection with the quarry site, as he considered the lease for two year?, with option ot purchase, had been definitely settled when he accepted the Board's offer as contained in the Board's letter of January 20tb, and he, of course, looked upon the quarry site, since writing the letter accepting the oiler, as being out of biß control during the term of lease of two years from date. The plan defining the area of the site was the same as pointed out to the ■Members of the Board, arid contained the only easy approach available. He thought that possibly the plan was misunderstood. He regretted the inability of the chairman to meet him on the site on the day arranged and would try and make it convenient to meet the engineer when he would be in Tuakau.

Itie chairman stated that as Mr Bycroft had eince met the engineer and members of the Board on the site there would be no necessity to deal further with the letter. COUNTY ADJUSTMENTS.
