DRURY ROAD BOARD.

The postponed meeting of the Drury Koad board waa held on Saturday laat, the following members being present :—Messrs ulasson (chairman), T. Brooks, G. Bremner, A. McNaughton and the cltrk, Mr S, Fielding. Before proceeding to ordinary business Mr G. Bremner expreseed the regret and sympathy of the numbers at the recent bereavement sustained by the chairman, in the death of his father.—Mr Glasson acknowleged tha remarks.

The clerk read the annual report and balance sheet of the Drury Domain, which showed a credit balance of £2 53.—The report was adopted and signed. A resolution was passed that the psnaltv of 10 per cent, should be added to all rates not paid bv March 14th.

The authority to spend £SO, £ for £ grant, for Sutton's road, was received from tbe Public Works Department. It was reported that French's bridge was finished, also that the work on the Rama Rama road was completed and passed by the District Engineer, and the clerk stated he had sent in the application for the balance of the grant.

In reply to enquiries from the Board of Agriculture, it was resolved that the Act should be strictly enforced io all ploughable country, but on the bills and difficult places it should be left to the discretion of the inspector. It was decided to accept A. McKinstry's ofer of 103 per yard for metal on Coulthard's Hill, Kiri Kiri.

Accounts totalling £226 17s 3d were passed for pavmenf, and the clerk was instructed to endeavour to collect rates a? soon as possible to meet them. The clerk reported a credit balauce of £l4O, which would leave a deficit of over £BO after outstanding accounts had-been paid.
